NEWS:APRIL- 2009 NEW YORK "450" A rap group out of Rochester, NY
450 a rap group out of Rochester, NY consisting of three members: Esso, P.G., and Joey Bars. 450 have been featured on mix tapes all over New York and hook'd up with some of Brooklyn producers from the Dangerous LLC management. The Dangerous LLC management are known for working on hits like 50 Cent's "Disco Inferno" and "Window Shopper." With their debut album "You keep rappin we'll keep unwrappin" hitting the streets hard and getting air play in NYC, 450 is a force to be reckoned with. I got a chance to fly out to NY to find out what 450 is all about.
Day 1:
I touched down in the ROC airport at 9:45 a.m.; awaiting there were P dot G, Epic, and GC. From the ROC we headed straight to P.G's place so i could drop off my bags and settle in. The first thing I noticed through the large windows was the killa view overlooking the downtown area, like them Roc boyz would say "it was real icy." After I settled in we started choppin it up, while P.G. emptied out the guts of the blunt and replacing it with the finest sour diesel. After the smoke break, we headed out to get some food from a Thai place. I ordered a water down Raadna i try adding soy sauce for flavor but it still wasn't banging right but you know I still ate that bitch anyways.
After the meal, we headed towards Bayway to the Fort where all the 450 goons kicked it. On the ride to the Fort P shared a few stories about things that went down in the streets. One incident that he mentioned happened earlier this year that involved a fifteen year old kid shooting a police officer in the back of the head. "Since then the cops been out like crazy with camera on about damn near every streetlight they harass us any chance they get" said P as we pulled up to the Fort; they made it clear to it was Fuck the Police up north. As we got into the Fort smoke brake two came on its way and the video recording began. I got to meet rest of the 450 goons and also the second member of 450 Joey Bars. Joey Bars this big Puerto Rican kid that was about his paper and he had the sickest stand out voice of the group. The third member, Esso, was the brains behind the whole movement. Esso, also known as the lyrical one with punch lines for days, was currently doing time and I did not get a chance to meet him.
The whole weekend while I was in NY the chanting "Free Esso!!" was everywhere I went. All I got to say is keep your had up an I hope everything works out for you cause the ROC needs you back in the game. After a long day we ended up at the studio; I chilled on the couch while the 450 boyz shot dice. I didn't know how long they were shooting dice for because ya boy was knocked out! (remind you the day before I had to put 10hrs at work before I caught the early flight to NY; not to mention we was moving non-stop all day) It was now 8:00 p.m. and i was sleepy as fuck, so one of P's homies took me back to the crib so I could rest up for a little. Four hours later P.G., Biggs, and Chunk woke me up, but it was all good because that was all the rest I needed. They pop in the classic movie Blood in, Blood out we just chilled and watched the movie for a while. The most painful scene that i remember from the movie was when the dude got dropped on the fire hydrant. (urrrrrggg....) After the movie damn P,the gamer, started to whoop everybody's ass on Street Fighter 4 and then we called it a night.
Day 2:
Like myself, Joey and Swerve were some big dudes, so I believe them but no homo " I ain't dippin my wings in no ball sauce!" (ha ha) The pre-game was now in full effect with Hennessy and coke and everybody clownin and having a good time. The one thing that got everybody buggin was Joey and his mismatch socks, homie had one black sock and one white sock on. (Joey you know I still got love for you though ha ha) Later we headed to Dubland where 540 was set to perform. Dubland is a small underground club that held about 200 max. The 450 crew took up about half of the club because you know they roll deep. It was Joey's birthday and he was sippin on a gold bottle of Ace of Spades. In the club everybody else was chillin with a bottle of 1988 rare vintage Vueve Clicquot. "Dem Roc boyz are champagne sippers for real, hell P even got me a bottle" Throughout the night we were toasting it up, but most of it ended up on the floor. (These Cats was just sprayin it on some freaks in the club)
The 540 crew were just pouring it out for the hell of it; just imagine walking on puddles of champagne inside the whole club. The clock hit 12:50 and it was time for 450 to perform. Throughout the club you can hear the chanting of "Free Esso, Free Esso, Free Esso!!" 450 did the damn thing but going onto their 4th track a fight broke out and caused the club to close early. I was kind of glad this happened because I had to be at the airport at 4:00 a.m. for a 6 a.m. flight. (It was daylight savings time so I lost an hour) I hopped in with Blue rapper and during the ride back Epic was hollaring at girls leaving the club with a bottle of Clicquot still in his hand.
